San Diego, CA – In just three short months since announcing his candidacy and one year away from the June 2018 election, business leader John Cox’s campaign for Governor has surpassed the 1,100 individual donor mark. This milestone is yet another demonstration of the strength of his campaign and support for its message of restoring accountability and trust with business-minded Republican leadership.
Cox campaign strategist Wayne Johnson noted, “This is exactly the kind of campaign foundation you want from a leading candidate for Governor. The support from these individual contributors and energy being generated around John’s candidacy, should be music to the ears of local Republican candidates statewide that can leverage this momentum and strike a blow to a California Democrat Party establishment that’s in complete disarray.”
Since John Cox announced for Governor he has received endorsements and support from Republican grassroots leaders, local elected officials, volunteers, and small business people across California. Two statewide public opinion polls have shown John Cox running a strong second to liberal Democrat frontrunner Gavin Newsom.
John Cox is a husband, father, businessman and Republican candidate for California Governor in 2018. Born and raised on the south-side of Chicago by a single mother public school teacher, John is a CPA who built his small business from the ground up. He is a longtime government reform advocate and conservative, and is running to eliminate the corrupting influence of special interest money that has made California the high-tax and regulation leader of the nation.
